Kate AndrewsBikram Certified InstructorFrom the first moment you walk into Kate's class you will feel her enthusiasm for Bikram Yoga. This enthusiasm will motivate you to do your best each and every time you practice. With tender encouragement Kate will encourage you to move forward in your yoga. You will feel her gently nudging you to keep a smile on your face throughout the class. Kate is an example of how to experience a rapid recovery from an injury. In August 2005 Kate suffered multiple fractures below her left knee in a mountain biking accident. She was literally carried out of the woods after wiping out on her bike. Already a regular yogi practitioner she surprised her doctors by continuing her Bikram Yoga practice after surgery. Beginning with a chair in the back of the yoga room she quickly began to heal. was able to regain full range of motion in her leg. This experience helped propel her long time desire to become a teacher. Thus in spring of 2007 she completed the rigorous Bikram Yoga Teacher Training program and received her certificate to teach. Kate's very first BikramYoga class was in 1999. She has a background as a professional ballet dancer, a ballet teacher and a Pilates instructor. When she is not practicing yoga, Kate spends her time with her children and husband feeding their llamas. She continues to be an avid biker. |
